Four Points by Sheraton Sydney in Darling Harbour invited key industry decision makers to be amongst the first to get a sneak preview of the property, including DC Conferences Business Development and Sponsorship Manager Jo Robinson.
Last week, event managers, PCOs and planners alike took the hotel’s first industry hard hat tour to get a glimpse at the AU$200 million redevelopment, which commenced in late 2013.
The tour was conducted by director of sales, Jo Naumovski, and featured previews of the new convention space under development, which incorporates 4,800 sqm of new conference, meeting and event space.
Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour’s general manager David Fraser said they were excited to hear what the tour group thought of the property.
“As the first group of clients to be shown around the new facilities, we were really pleased with the feedback we received,” he said.
“Our guests were very impressed by the size of the new convention, event and meeting spaces and surprised at how quickly and seamlessly the development is progressing.”
“With less than a year to go until the new conference space will be open and ready for use, focus groups like these are really important to help ensure the new facilities are first-rate and the guest experience is truly unique.”
Scheduled and on track for completion in May 2016, Four Points by Sheraton Sydney’s new convention space will offer a total of 23 flexible conference, meeting and events spaces, including two pillar-free ballrooms with natural light and views over Sydney’s Darling Harbour, and with capacity for 1000 in the northern ballroom and 1100 theatre-style in the southern ballroom.
The development of a new hotel tower is also in the pipeline and is slated for completion in August 2016. The third tower will add 222 new guestrooms to the hotel’s current portfolio, bringing the total number of rooms to 905.
