Manly Famil

As storms rolled through Sydney this week with flooding and October snow, I huddled under a blanket and reflected on the weekend just passed – a Friday night sleepover in Manly with sparkling sunrise over the beach and a perfect sunny Saturday morning.

Good morning Manly

I was fortunate to have been invited to a Manly famil with the Accor Group. Although I had visited the beach at Manly before I was really looking forward to seeing what was on offer in terms of conference spaces and accommodation.

Rushing away from work on Friday afternoon I arrived at The Sebel Manly Beach after a busy week and relaxed instantly as I was greeted by the smiling friendly faces of hosts proud of their products.

Our evening started with a site inspection of The Sebel and the newly renovated Manly Wine, located in front of the southern end of beautiful Manly Beach. We were fortunate to see Beachside One stunningly set for an intimate wedding for 50, and were enticed by the full-length windows overlooking Manly beach and the room full of natural light.

Just a short stroll down the promenade, past trendy cafes and bars, we arrived at the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific and were shown the relaxed beachside rooms with spectacular views, and flexible conference and meeting spaces. Dinner at the Novotel was a highlight, offering multiple food stations showcasing exceptional options and a relaxed, sociable atmosphere.

As the sun rose over the water the next morning, the waves glistened and we were motivated by the large number of fit and active people getting an early start on their weekend – running, surfing, cycling or just walking the dog.

Q Station ConferenceOur day started with a site inspection of the historic Q Station and the spectacular views over Sydney Harbour National Park. We were treated to breakfast in the sun on the terrace outside the Boilerhouse Harbourside Restaurant. Our creative skills were then put into action as BeChallenged turned us into perfume “experts” and we invented and marketed new fragrances, competing against our new friends. Would it be too much to mention that my team won?!

The morning came to an end and we returned to the Sebel to enjoy the rest of the day on Sydney’s Manly beach.

Thank you so much to our hosts from the Sebel, the Novotel, Q Station and BeChallenged for a fun and relaxing weekend in the sun.
